- TERRES DES HOMMES by Antoine de St. Exupéry - the book that made me feel “seen” and that I purchase and gift to people in an unsolicited way, but I think nobody has really seen what I saw in it…yet (here’s hoping someone does eventually)
- Country music - yes…because its lyrics are refreshing. I am getting so tired of unintelligent and unimaginative pop, and hip-hop music
- The Marginalian philosophy blog - a goldmine for the intellectually curious but that don’t have patience or time to real a bunch of philosophy books. I donate money to them regularly.
- El Cautivo film about the captivity of Cervantes in Algiers - and the power of storytelling (also, SPOILER: what a total badass risking his life to lead no less than 4 escape attempts that were punishable by death).
- Biblioteca Palafoxiana - 20 Libros Que Cambiaron La Humanidad exhibit
- Offseason Travel - no explanation needed
- Sinners movie - it’s so layered and has so much symbolism and cultural commentary mixed with mythology…it’s the type of film I dream of making
- NPR’s Fresh Air interview with Guillermo del Toro - super insightful interview about how this film genius thinks, but also his unique perspectives on Mexican identity, Mexico’s unique relationship with death, and so forth
